Levels
Four stages, placed by ability
Because students arrive at different points, the curriculum is written non-graded: a student is placed by what they can do, not by their age. Every objective has a checklist and suggested assessments, which homeschool families can keep with their records.
Pre-Readiness
PreK – Kindergarten
First contact with the language. Greetings, colors, numbers and songs, learned through play and repetition rather than worksheets.
Readiness
Grades 1 – 3
The skills that make language study possible: listening for meaning, copying sounds accurately, and holding short exchanges without translating first.
Foundations
Grades 4 – 6
Vocabulary and structure broaden. Students read simple texts, write short pieces, and start comparing how Spanish and English build a sentence.
Essentials
Grades 7 – 8
The competencies a student needs to carry into high school Spanish — sustained conversation, tenses, and cultural fluency beyond the textbook.

What an hour actually looks like
- 01
Warm-up in Spanish only
Greetings, the date, the weather, how everyone slept. Ten minutes of hearing the language before anyone has to produce it.
- 02
New material, in context
Vocabulary and structure introduced through a story, a song, or an object — never through a list to memorize cold.
- 03
Everybody speaks
Partner work, games and short presentations. In a class this size there is nowhere to hide, which is the point.
- 04
Culture close
A piece of the Spanish-speaking world — a dish, a holiday, a piece of music — tied to what was just learned.
